Día 1
City tour
Tour start time: 10:00 am
- This tour will show you the historic center of Santiago and beyond. One of our expert guides will pick you up in a private vehicle to explore the city center and the diverse and interesting neighborhoods of Santiago.
- We start by visiting Cerro San Cristóbal, where we will take a cable car to the top and enjoy the most impressive panoramic views of the entire city and the Andes mountain range. Then, we will drive through the bohemian Bellavista neighborhood before reaching the historic center of the city, where we will see the Florestal Park, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Plaza de Armas (the main square of Santiago), the Cathedral, the Municipality, the Correo Central, former National Congress Building, La Moneda Palace (Government House), National Theater and Cerro Santa Lucía.
- Originally named Cerro Huelén by the Mapuche indigenous people, Cerro Santa Lucía is where Pedro de Valdivia founded the city in 1541.
- We will also pass through the vibrant bohemian neighborhood of Lastarria. Then, we will go to the east side of the city, towards the financial heart of Santiago, known for its modern buildings and impressive glass skyscrapers, passing through Costanera Center, the tallest building in South America.
- You will see why this area is known as “Sanhattan” among the locals.
- Afterwards we will visit the exclusive neighborhood of Las Condes and stop at El Pueblito de Los Dominicos, a beautiful handicraft market in the shadow of the Andes designed to resemble a colonial town, where you will see local artisans working at their craft.
- Located next to the beautiful Iglesia de San Vicente Ferrer, a national monument, El Pueblito is a must see in Santiago.
- The shops built with mud and straw, house more than 180 artisans, representing the best and most complete sample of Chilean crafts.

- As in any large city, Santiago has a lot of traffic in some sectors, especially on weekdays. Your driver will do his best to avoid very congested areas, but to see the main historical points in the city center you will inevitably run into traffic, which can sometimes be heavy and cause delays in your return time. We appreciate your patience and understanding, as traffic is completely out of our control. If you want a tour without traffic, please consider our Santiago City Walking Tour.
