In this expedition we will visit: Toconao ( Kunza: Lost Corner ) enchants for its simplicity, calm of its people, special climate, beautiful architecture and crafts; We will visit the marginal area of the Salar de Atacama known as Laguna Chaxa located in Soncor Sector, Los Flamencos National Reserve. Later we take direction towards the South East (Cordillera de los Andes) to settle in an Altiplanic Town of Socaire name, we visit its Church and we know about its agriculture. Once installed in the Andes, we go approx. At 4200 masl to meet Miscanti and Meñiques Lagoons belonging to the Los Flamencos National Reserve, it is characterized by volcanoes and mountainous reliefs such as the Miscanti hill and Meñiques volcano. In addition to flamingos, species such as the Tagua Cornuda, Parinas Chicas, the Caití, Baird Beach, Chorlo de la Puna, Pato Juarjual and the Guallata abound. The flora is mainly composed of Llareta and Paja Brava.
Both lagoons are born thanks to the underground water coming from the thaws.
- Valley of the moon:
It is a desert landscape, a geomorphological wonder. Our ancestors called it Las Salinas today known worldwide as Valle de la Luna, surrounded by a set of landscapes of incomparable beauty and resembling a fragment of the lunar landscape to which it owes its name. In 1982 it was declared a Sanctuary of Nature and is part of the Flamencos National Reserve in this place you can observe a geological show of great interest especially at sunrise and sunset.
During your visit you can contemplate: Quebrada de Ckari, the famous natural formation known by our ancestors as The Three Watchers today called The Three Marys, Dune Major; majestic body of sand and viewpoints like; Quebrada Honda where the famous Coyote Stone is located.
- Tatio Geysers:
The Tatio (from the Kunza "tata-iu") which means "The Crying Grandfather" is one of the highest Geysers camps in the world. Located in the cordon of the Andes to the NE of San Pedro de Atacama, it is the largest Geiser group in the southern hemisphere and the third largest in the world, after Yellowstone (USA) and Dolina Giezerow (Russia).
The maximum expression of these fumaroles begins between 06:00 and 07: 00Hrs. Approx. With temperatures reaching 85 ° C. On our return it is possible to observe wildlife such as vicunas, llamas, rheas, vizcachas, etc. While in the Flora the giant Cacti, llaretas, coirón, etc. stand out. In addition, we will visit the small ancestral town of Machuca its few inhabitants are mainly engaged in grazing and cheese production, very close to the place is the Laguna Salada where families of flamingos, ducks and seagulls live with an imposing landscape of beauty.
