Itinerary
Día 1
Welcome to Valparaíso (Simple)
- The tour begins in the iconic British Arch, which was donated to the city by the English colony in 1910 and embodies the immigration that has always been present in the city. We follow the monument to Lord Cochrane, founder of the Chilean Navy and pass through the huge mural "The Four Seasons" painted by a Different Kolor.
- From there we arrive at the historic Anibal Pinto square, known for its fountain and its cafés, and then go up the Reina Victoria funicular, one of the oldest in the city, to Cerro Alegre.
- Once up, we begin exploring the Dimalow promenade with its murals dedicated to the cartoonist Lukas. We continue along Almirante Montt Street, known for its elegant restaurants, to the famous mural We Are not Hippies We Are Happies, where everyone wants to take pictures.
- From there we walk to see Cerro Concepcion, known for its European-style architecture and its various temples, such as the San Paul Anglican church, the oldest non-Catholic church in South America. Then we go down the colorful Piano Staircase, another photo point, and turn to the Atkinson viewpoint, famous for its Georgian houses and the popular Brighton restaurant.
- From here we continue to another viewpoint, the Gervasoni promenade. Here we will find Café Turri, the Concepción funicular, the oldest in the port and the museum of the cartoonist Lukas.
- Continuing on Cerro Concepción, we will get to know in popular Galvez passage, taken into account by its colorful and always changing murals, by the Fisher staircase or "Artists' Staircase" and by the curious Laundry, a slide where in ancient times the ladies washed their clothes by hand. If the passenger wishes, we can also stop at one of the several cafés in this sector.
- We will leave Cerro Concepcion to return to Cerro Alegre, going up the Bavestrello passage, where the rich alfajores of Don Sergio are located and that leaves us in the spectacular Yugoslav Mirador (also called Baburizza promenade) from where you can take the best photos of the bay and where the majestic Museum of Art is also located.
- From this point we will go back down to the plan through the newly restored Funicular El Peral, which will leave us in front of the Palace of Justice with its mysterious Statue of Injustice.
- We will continue to Sotomayor Square, the largest in the port, surrounded by palaces and historic landmarks, such as the first fire company in South America and the iconic Monument to the Heroes of the Pacific War, with its flame always burning and finally we finish the tour at Prat Pier, from where, if the passenger wishes, he can continue touring the city in one of the many boats that take walks in the bay.
